The Chaos Theory

Yes, as depressing as the title sounds, in applied mathematics it is believed that small differences in the initial conditions can yield a widely diverging outcome! This means even though the behavior of a system can be ‘deterministic’ (meaning outcome is fully predictable with no room for randomness – in scientific terms), the chaotic nature mentioned above makes them completely unpredictable! All it needs is a slight change here or there in the initial state and we will have an unpredictable outcome – this is also affectionately called the “butterfly effect” (the beauty of a butterfly flipping in Singapore, for example, causing a hurricane in Florida!) 🙂

I saw a movie The Oxford Murders, in which Prof. Arthur Seldom (John Hurt) explains this fragility to his students that we humans face when it comes to reconciling with mind and matter! That, we refuse to accept certain notions, such as a pure abstraction, can only exist in our brain (not in reality)! He says in his first scene: “If we write 2, then 4 then 6, we feel good because we know that next comes 8. We can foresee it. We are not in the hands of the destiny. Unfortunately however, this has nothing to do with truth. Don’t you agree? This is only fear….” How very true!

As I was seeing the revolution warming up in Egypt, I was feeling the same…, how very frail they are for not knowing what is in store for them! No one knows, and none can predict! The media philosophers who cheered for the past few weeks, Mubarak being vanished from the equation, are now silent with fingers crossed…, sadly these ‘trigger happy’ idiots who once trumped up the so-called freedom movement, filtered the news to advance their agenda, now covering nothing! Yes, they too can’t predict what Egypt will become but they knew this from the beginning – and that’s the sad part of this drama! Once their local agenda, whatever that may be, has been accomplished, they just took Egypt out of their news! While in Egypt the reality stinks even more:  the military suspended the constitution, imposed martial law (BTW, whole world knows that there is no such a thing as ‘martial law will end in democracy’ anytime soon, so please don’t talk about hope BS!), people are on strike, and there is no food on the table for many! Slowly one by one is waking up from their dreams to realize that their dreams are nowhere in the vicinity of their lifetime! Some are even wondering whether they were played like pawns by some kingmakers… Maybe the Muslim Brotherhood? Only time will tell.

So what do we do now? Arthur Seldom adds, “There is no way of finding a single absolute truth, an irrefutable argument to help answer the questions of mankind. Philosophy therefore is dead. Because whereof we cannot speak, thereof we must be silent.” – I agree.

The Counterfeits

One of the definitions of the term ‘Business’ is the social science of managing people to organize and maintain collective productivity towards accomplishing certain particular goals, usually to generate profit. Isn’t it amazing to see that this definition automatically makes many common things as foundations of business? Well, interestingly, it can even include religion, can it not? Yes it can! In fact religion is one of the best platforms to make profit, IMHO. It can make you money, it can make you popular, it can give you power, it can even kill!

Medieval Crusaders convinced simple peasants to take arms against the Semites so that they can “go to heaven” if they do so! The poor believed it! Reprobates like Dennis Prager splits the hair between the words kill and murder to justify bombing Hiroshima as “scripturally a moral act”, else he claims World War II would have still continued! Yes you guessed it; many neo-cons believe this rationale wholeheartedly! Tell me friends, who would not love to hear from their preachers that “God does not want us to be poor”! Sadly greed makes many to say Amen to this question! Who would not love to hear that it is “God’s call to segregate people of different color and ethnicity for the betterment of each group”? Apparently many believed, that’s why we had apartheid in Africa and slavery in the US!

It is always easy to pry on people who has little or no understanding of themselves; the people who lack strong self-esteem and individualism! These folks normally flock in groups, work in groups and even think in groups, if at all they think! They mostly have a leader; a conman who leads them like dumb flock of sheep. (Why do you think after all the publicity for years, still people fall for Nigerian money laundering scheme? I even had a close encounter with a group called BWW, a pyramid scheme camouflaged as legitimate business; pure stupidity! LOL)

Of all institutions, Christian religion has become a money making machine nowadays, preachers show their pomp and glory and make their churches, what they call, a “Mega Church”, with thousands of members pouring their money, making the preachers richer by day! Some churches take a different route, like this Rev. Wright’s church, where Senator Obama attends for the past 20 years. He is using the pulpit to spread a message of segregation, a message of hatred. Senator Obama claims he heard only Gospel from him, but he knows it’s a lie, for how could a message advocating racial-segregation & hatred for their adversaries be either considered as teachings of Christ or embedded with the Gospel? These two are like water and oil, cannot be mixed together, by nature. Institutions always influence its members, in fact society as an institution too affect us all in one way or other. But, I think certain intuitions are purely created for profiting by prying on other’s innocence (or stupidity). The danger with these types of institutions is that their members eventually become the leader themselves, meaning become elements of what their leaders want them to be, because of their long exposure to false doctrines. Ever angry Michelle Obama is the victim of such a sad conditioned-process, I think.

My dear friends watch out for Satan’s traps. As the scripture says, The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders – [2 Thessalonians 2:9]. And as born-again believers we were also admonished to identify these counterfeits diligently and not to give-in to them; the Holy Spirit is our only Council, in the words of the Apostle Paul: As for you, the anointing you received from HIM remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as HIS anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit – just as it has taught you, remain in HIM. – [1 John 2:27].

Grace be with you’ll.

The Great GOD Debate

Although America is predominantly a Christian country, the Christian community here is rapidly drifting from being torchbearers of the “Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ” to the “Moral Police” political action party (towards Moral Majority Revival, to be precise, as led by late evangelist Rev. Jerry Falwell); it is called the Conservative Christian Right (sarcastically called the “wing-nuts” by the intellectual left… l.o.l)! It is amazing to see how history repeats faithfully by bringing out these radicals who misuse religion to advance their secular agenda; and we can do nothing about it, but just to “pass them by” as Calvin did to those (pathetic souls with “holier than thou” attitude!) who “amused themselves” equating their righteousness with the purity of angels.

One of the sure manifestations of our fallen nature is the arrogance of attempting to interpret the scripture “presumptuously” as Augustine states humbly when he began his commentaries, and it is amazing to see such a thing happening even now as it happened several times in the course of our human history in the past, when Christianity deliberately distracts from the set-course for a moment and try to interpret scripture to match the radical ideology that a small group wants the society to swallow! Although excited by lot of success initially, takes profound humiliation in their attempt, shame and defeat from unexpected corners in the end, and then reverts back to the right track towards the age-old sweet Gospel, with humility, at last; not to mention taking it’s toll on both sides of the sword in this “course correcting” process! – is this part of our Master’s grand plan?

“As God seals his elect by vocation and justification, so by excluding the reprobate from the knowledge of his name and the sanctification of his Spirit, he affords an indication of the judgment that awaits them.” – John Calvin, Institutes of the Christian Religion (On Double Predestination).

Alright, enough with the introduction (and Calvin propaganda… l.o.l), attached below is a nice debate conducted by the Conservative Christian Right with the hope that more suckers will subscribe to their insane agenda, instead faced a humiliating defeat from an atheist!

Hysteria Over The Da Vinci Code

I never felt the need to voice out my thoughts about the book ‘The Da Vinci Code’ until I received this email (which provoked me to clear up all these redundant frenzy):

<< THE DA VINCI CODE – Lecture by Fr. Gino Henriques (23/4/2006)]
*Jesus had said “Watch out and do not let anyone fool you.(Matthew 24,4).
St. Peter said ” Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour (1, Peter,4, 8). Pope John Paul II had spoken about the Culture of Death, Relativism, the dictatorship of Negatism and a God-less world. Today many speak about ” Don’t talk about God, about religion or about Christ”

The Da Vinci Code was written by Dan Brown as a fiction taking excerpts from the book “The Holy Grail”, a fiction story, but claiming that Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene and offspring, Sarah, forms that genealogy line( see below). The Dan Brown book has now been translated into 45 languages and the author now has changed and believes that the information is now “fact” and not fiction.

*Jesus warned ” …Look, here he is! Do not believe him. False Messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will perform miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God’s chosen people, if possible. Be on your guard. I have told everything ahead of time. ( Mark 13,21-23)

Hi All,
Please find attached the lecture given by Fr Gino recently. Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI, Zenit News ,our Church Fathers have all condemned this book the Da Vinci Code, which started out as a fiction story by Dan Brown, and now he insists it is fact. On the 19/5 the movie is out in town. The Da Vinci Code is aimed at destroying Jesus Christ, the Christian Faith , the Catholic Church and all religion, and replacing them with his own religion and thesis. It is time as apostles of Christ that we go out and give the Good News and debunk this book publicly. It is a hoax and full of falsehood and distortion of true Church history. May our Lord and the Holy Spirit go with you >>

Here’s my prescription for those Christianists (Christians who are politically-oriented) who are terrified over the book ‘The Da Vinci Code’ written by Dan Brown as to the impact it might have on fellow believers; for those planning to boycott the documentaries shown on the history channel and the up coming movie with Tom Hanks playing the role of a  “Harvard symbology professor named Robert Langdon who gets embroiled in a murder mystery of Biblical proportions”: “TAKE A CHILL PILL will ya!”

As a Calvinist I believe that faith comes from GOD and hence it can never be taken back, although often times as a fallen creature, people do doubt this very faith, like Thomas!! Interestingly enough this Da Vinci issue has been a nightmare for “freewill” believers (who believe that the faith is purely a voluntary act of man, because man has the freewill to choose between good and evil) like Catholics and some Protestants who follow Armenian theology; because of this freewill, they believe that the devil can deceive and make us relinquish our faith!

Can the devil deceive? Yes, because of our fallen nature, we do give-in to flesh often times and rebel & grieve the Holy Ghost, but can the devil take away the faith given to the chosen ones? No, because the faith comes from God, and once the elect are saved by this faith they remain saved forever, hence this constant repentance (a war between the flesh and the sprit which the Apostle Paul talks about).

Here in US, the Catholics and some freewill Evangelical communities (politically called the Christian Right-Wing) have taken their “moral” addiction so far in warring about abortion, gays, cloning and so on, and completely distracting themselves from the sweet gospel of our Savior; which is “repent or perish”. They think by keeping their moral values (which Paul calls as “filthy rags”) they can sustain their salvation; pity without realizing salvation was obtained by the Man (JESUS CHRIST) on the cross whose atonement “alone” is the cause and the price of our salvation!! (In a way my husband was pink in glee that at last The Da Vinci Code is serving these “freewillers” right for good!!)

Here are the basics of the Doctrine of Grace upon which I wrote this blog:

There are two mains camps of theology within Christianity in America today: Arminianism and Calvinism. Calvinism is a system of biblical interpretation taught by John Calvin. Calvin lived in France in the 1500’s at the time of Martin Luther who sparked the Reformation.

The system of Calvinism adheres to a very high view of scripture and seeks to derive its theological formulations based solely on God’s word. It focuses on God’s sovereignty, stating that God is able and willing by virtue of his omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence, to do whatever He desires with His creation. It also maintains that within the Bible are the following teachings: That God, by His sovereign grace predestines people into salvation; that Jesus died only for those predestined; that God regenerates the individual where he is then able and wants to choose God; and that it is impossible for those who are redeemed to lose their salvation.

Arminianism, on the other hand, maintains that God predestined, but not in an absolute sense. Rather, He looked into the future to see who would pick him and then He chose them. Jesus died for all peoples’ sins who have ever lived and ever will live, not just the Christians. Each person is the one who decides if he wants to be saved or not. And finally, it is possible to lose your salvation.

Basically, Calvinism is known by an acronym: T.U.L.I.P.

Total Depravity (also known as Total Inability and Original Sin)
Unconditional Election
Limited Atonement (also known as Particular Atonement)
Irresistible Grace
Perseverance of the Saints (also known as Once Saved Always Saved)

Total Depravity:
Sin has affected all parts of man. The heart, emotions, will, mind, and body are all affected by sin. We are completely sinful. We are not as sinful as we could be, but we are completely affected by sin. The doctrine of Total Depravity is derived from scriptures that reveal human character: Man’s heart is evil (Mark 7:21-23) and sick (Jer. 17:9). Man is a slave of sin (Rom. 6:20). He does not seek for God (Rom. 3:10-12). He cannot understand spiritual things (1 Cor. 2:14). He is at enmity with God (Eph. 2:15). And, is by nature a child of wrath (Eph. 2:3). The Calvinist asks the question, “In light of the scriptures that declare man’s true nature as being utterly lost and incapable, how is it possible for anyone to choose or desire God?” The answer is, “He cannot. Therefore God must predestine.” Calvinism also maintains that because of our fallen nature we are born again not by our own will but God’s will (John 1:12-13); God grants that we believe (Phil. 1:29); faith is the work of God (John 6:28-29); God appoints people to believe (Acts 13:48); and God predestines (Eph. 1:1-11; Rom. 8:29

Unconditional Election:
God does not base His election on anything He sees in the individual. He chooses the elect according to the kind intention of His will (Eph. 1:4-8; Rom. 9:11) without any consideration of merit within the individual. Nor does God look into the future to see who would pick Him. Also, as some are elected into salvation, others are not (Rom. 9:15, 21).
Limited Atonement:
Jesus died only for the elect. Though Jesus’ sacrifice was sufficient for all, it was not efficacious for all. Jesus only bore the sins of the elect. Support for this position is drawn from such scriptures as Matt. 26:28 where Jesus died for ‘many’; John 10:11, 15 which say that Jesus died for the sheep (not the goats, per Matt. 25:32-33); John 17:9 where Jesus in prayer interceded for the ones given Him, not those of the entire world; Acts 20:28 and Eph. 5:25-27 which state that the Church was purchased by Christ, not all people; and Isaiah 53:12 which is a prophecy of Jesus’ crucifixion where he would bore the sins of many (not all).

Irresistible Grace: When God calls his elect into salvation, they cannot resist. God offers to all people the gospel message. This is called the external call. But to the elect, God extends an internal call and it cannot be resisted. This call is by the Holy Spirit who works in the hearts and minds of the elect to bring them to repentance and regeneration whereby they willingly and freely come to God. Some of the verses used in support of this teaching are Romans 9:16 where it says that “it is not of him who wills nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy”; Philippians 2:12-13 where God is said to be the one working salvation in the individual; John 6:28-29 where faith is declared to be the work of God; Acts 13:48 where God appoints people to believe; and John 1:12-13 where being born again is not by man’s will, but by God’s.

Perseverance of the Saints:
You cannot lose your salvation. Because the Father has elected, the Son has redeemed, and the Holy Spirit has applied salvation, those thus saved are eternally secure. They are eternally secure in Christ. Some of the verses for this position are John 10:27-28 where Jesus said His sheep will never perish; John 6:47 where salvation is described as everlasting life; Romans 8:1 where it is said we have passed out of judgment; 1 Corinthians 10:13 where God promises to never let us be tempted beyond what we can handle; and Phil. 1:6 where God is the one being faithful to perfect us until the day of Jesus’ return.

(These five categories do not comprise Calvinism in totality. They simply represent some of its main points.)

Don’t even dare tell me that I’m promoting the heresy of this book, all I’m saying is just because I read this book or watch the movie I’m not gonna lose my faith given by GOD for HE is the sustainer of my faith!! AMEN!

Jewish Role!

At least someone has the guts to speak out the TRUTH!

Study alleges US sets aside own security interest for Israel’s
Research paper by two leading academics on US-Israel relationship ignites controversy.
By Tom Regan | csmonitor.com
A research paper by two leading American political scientists alleges that the US relationship with Israel is not good for US security, and that the Israeli lobby in the US, particularly the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee, has helped exaggerate to the US media and public the importance of making the protection of Israel a key part of US foreign policy.
John J. Mearsheimer, a professor of political science and a co-director of the Program on International Security Policy at the University of Chicago, and Stephen M. Walt, academic dean of the Kennedy School, published their paper, “The Israeli Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy,” on the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University website. A shorter version was also published by the London Review of Books.
Mr. Mearsheimer and Mr. Walt question the relationship between the two allies right from the beginning of the paper:
The US national interest should be the primary object of American foreign policy. For the past several decades, however, and especially since the Six Day War in 1967, the centerpiece of US Middle East policy has been its relationship with Israel. The combination of unwavering US support for Israel and the related effort to spread democracy throughout the region has inflamed Arab and Islamic opinion and jeopardized US security.
This situation has no equal in American political history. Why has the United States been willing to set aside its own security in order to advance the interests of another state? One might assume that the bond between the two countries is based on shared strategic interests or compelling moral imperatives. As we show below, however, neither of those explanations can account for the remarkable level of material and diplomatic support that the United States provides to Israel.
The 81-page paper then says that the “overall thrust of US policy in the region is due almost entirely to US domestic politics, and especially to the activities of the ‘Israel Lobby.'” While other special interest groups have skewed US policy in their favor, the authors write that no group has been so successful at diverting the US national interest from what it should be as the Israel lobby, “while simultaneously convincing Americans that US and Israeli interests are essentially identical.”

The paper also says that the unquestioning relationship with Israel actually makes winning the war on terror a much more difficult task.

More important, saying that Israel and the US are united by a shared terrorist threat has the causal relationship backwards: the US has a terrorism problem in good part because it is so closely allied with Israel, not the other way around. Support for Israel is not the only source of anti-American terrorism, but it is an important one, and it makes winning the war on terror more difficult. There is no question that many Al Qaeda leaders, including Osama bin Laden, are motivated by Israel’s presence in Jerusalem and the plight of the Palestinians. Unconditional support for Israel makes it easier for extremists to rally popular support and to attract recruits.
As for so-called rogue states in the Middle East, they are not a dire threat to vital US interests, except inasmuch as they are a threat to Israel. Even if these states acquire nuclear weapons – which is obviously undesirable – neither America nor Israel could be blackmailed, because the blackmailer could not carry out the threat without suffering overwhelming retaliation. The danger of a nuclear handover to terrorists is equally remote, because a rogue state could not be sure the transfer would go undetected or that it would not be blamed and punished afterwards. The relationship with Israel actually makes it harder for the US to deal with these states. Israel’s nuclear arsenal is one reason some of its neighbors want nuclear weapons, and threatening them with regime change merely increases that desire.
Justin Raimundo of Antiwar.com, a long time critic of the activities of the Israeli lobby in the US, writes that the authors also cite incidents when the lobby groups went after Jews who were advocating a different approach to US policy in the region.
When Edgar Bronfman, president of the World Jewish Congress, wrote a letter to President Bush expressing his opposition to the “security wall,” and asking that the US put pressure on Israel to stop construction, he was accused of “perfidy” by leading figures in the Lobby. The nature of the attacks revealed an attitude toward Israel not unlike that held by the Communists of the Cold War era toward the Soviet Union. As Mearsheimer and Walt point out:
“Critics declared that, ‘It would be obscene at any time for the president of the World Jewish Congress to lobby the president of the United States to resist policies being promoted by the government of Israel.’ When Seymour Reich, president of the Israel Policy Forum, suggested to Condi Rice that the Israelis should be pressured to reopen a Gaza Strip border crossing, the Lobby went ballistic, and Reich soon recanted, announcing that ‘the word “pressure” is not in my vocabulary when it comes to Israel.'”
United Press International also reports that the paper suggest the role played by the Israeli lobby in shaping US policy towards Iraq prior to the war is now being repeated in the US position towards Iran.
In the Jan./Feb. 2003 edition of Foreign Policy, Walt and Mearsheimer wrote “An unnecessary war,” which questioned the major rationales being offered at the time by the Bush adminstration for war against Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
If the United States is, or soon will be, at war with Iraq, Americans should understand that a compelling strategic rationale is absent. This war would be one the Bush administration chose to fight but did not have to fight. Even if such a war goes well and has positive long-range consequences, it will still have been unnecessary. And if it goes badly – whether in the form of high US casualties, significant civilian deaths, a heightened risk of terrorism, or increased hatred of the United States in the Arab and Islamic world – then its architects will have even more to answer for.
The latest Walt and Mearsheimer research paper is being widely criticized by Israel supporters.
CAMERA, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, said that the paper is “marred by numerous errors.” An article on the group’s website said that a similar article “submitted by a student would flunk.”
In fact, even a cursory examination of The Israel Lobby and US Foreign Policy reveals that it is riddled with errors of fact, logic and omission, has inaccurate citations, displays extremely poor judgement regarding sources, and, contrary to basic scholarly standards, ignores previous serious work on the subject. The bottom line: virtually every word and argument is, or ought to be, in “serious dispute.”
The Jerusalem Post reports that the paper has “sparked instant controversy.”
An official with a pro-Israel organization in Washington said that the authors’ disagreement “is not with America’s pro-Israel lobby, but with the American people, who overwhelmingly support our relationship with Israel, and with Democrats and Republicans in successive administrations and Congress, who so strongly and consistently support the special relationship between the United States and Israel.”
The Jerusalem Newswire called the paper a new example of “the centuries-old libel that the Jewish people have somehow taken control of the affairs of the most powerful nations on earth,” dressed up in academic attire.
It is unclear how they feel about Washington’s close ties to brutal dictatorial regimes, such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt, since they chose to spend their time engaged in the more popular pastime of Israel-bashing.
Naturally, the report has topped headlines in the leftist international media, and in particular in the Middle East, where no love is lost for either Israel or the United States.
The nature of the relationship between Israel and the US is also explored in political analyst Kevin Phillip’s new book “American Theocracy,” but more from the US end. Mr. Phillips writes about the role of “prophetic Christians” who believe that one of the key signs of the Second Coming will be the Jewish settlement of the whole of Biblical Israel, and how this powerful religious group within the US, often working with the Israel lobby mentioned by Walt and Mearsheimer, affects US policy in the Middle East.
Ha’aretz reported Monday that President Bush reiterated US support for Israel, saying that the US would use military force to protect Israel from Iranian threats if necessary. The president also said he would prefer to resolve the dispute over Iran’s nuclear program diplomatically.
Also on Monday, Reuters reported that the US Supreme Court rejected an appeal by Jonathan Pollard. Mr. Pollard, a former Navy intelligence analyst convicted of spying for Israel, had wanted access to classified documents in his sentencing file. With comment, the court “declined to review a US appeals court ruling that federal courts lack jurisdiction to review claims for access to such documents for clemency petitions.”
